Description
Exploration of Clay with Annette Corcoran Ceramic artist Annette Corcoran says she knew she would be an artist but never picked a medium until she touched clay. She has been sculpting, showing and selling ceramics, including her familiar bird teapots for 34 years. In this presentation Annette will share her early years of exploration of clay and teapots as well as some more recent bird teapots. Annette Corcoran was born in 1930 in a small beach town in Southern California and went on to graduate from Univ. of Calif. Berkeley in 1952. She married and raised 3 boys with her husband of 65 years. Working as a graphic artist until 1971, she took a ceramics class for fun at a local college, and has been involved with clay for the last 46 years. Join us for a six-part lecture series about the diverse and wonderful art currently being made by artists in Central California. Local experts will be featured in one-hour lectures about their chosen subjects. Visitors are welcome to bring food and drinks during this lunchtime lecture series.
