Presented by Helen Hempel, *Certified as an Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation
If someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or any dementia, it’s time to review and assess what plans and what documents are in place to address the situation. Have you talked about your wishes if you are the one who is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s? Have you and your spouse considered how you would approach dealing with the progress of the disease? Do you have documents that will enable a smooth transition for decision making?
This presentation will review the documents that can help in managing the need for substitute decision making and will highlight other considerations that may be necessitated by the diagnosis.
