Because not all great minds think alike...

Chartwell School provides a diagnostic education to students with dyslexia and other language-related learning difficulties. Our fully accredited college preparatory programs for grades 2-8 and 9-12 incorporate research-based best practices and multi-sensory hands-on learning opportunities to provide students with the academic skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to meet the challenges of mainstream education and lifelong learning.

      Our Students & Approach
Our students have average or better intelligence, but many have struggled in traditional classrooms, primarily due to their language based learning differences like dyslexia. Many of our students also are impacted by conditions including: ADD or ADHD, dysgraphia and anxiety. We provide co-ed students aged 6-18 with the skills, knowledge and tools they need to succeed. We expect our students to become active, responsible learners. We equip them to meet that expectation by helping them identify and develop their areas of strength.

A Chartwell education includes: small class sizes, attention to learning styles, emphasis on social skills and character building, multi-sensory learning, integrated technology, enrichment activities, sports and a healthful, green campus.

      Vision
Chartwell aspires to show the world that young people with language-based learning differences and diverse learning styles and profiles can be among the most creative, productive and valuable members of any community. We further aim to inspire others to get to know, understand and value these students from very young ages and to help them realize their full potential. We seek to see them develop into confident young people and adults, committed to lifelong learning and equipped with the knowledge, skills and social and emotional competencies to achieve their goals.

Our vision of a better educational world for these students includes teachers who are lifelong learners, the adoption of cutting edge research and effective technologies, and being a center of learning for the teaching profession, parents and the community. Our collaborative relationships with individuals, organizations and networks of allied professionals aim to advance the understanding, advocacy and practical delivery of services for the benefit of individuals with learning differences, while partnerships with higher education, business, and others in our region seek to advance the quality of education for all students.
