Response to immediate threat
1. General Conversation: Understanding the actual technology of UV Lighting in the fight against COVID-19. Meredith Nole, MIES – Edges Group. Technology has 40 years of proven record in pharmaceutical, medical and food industries; UV can penetrate the outside of the virus and eliminate it; can be used in unoccupied space with remote on-off control; these units can be combined with air handling units to supply clean air; UV more effective than chemical disinfectants applied manually; device costs range from $550 to $3K; applicable in gyms, airplanes, subways, trains, schools; 90-99.99% disinfection is possible with this technology. 2. Hospitality & Tourism. Board of Supervisors to receive a letter addressing: testing, population adjustments relating to the tier and seasonal workers that define vaccine distribution, and hospitality vaccinations in one group.
3. State of California. Sacramento Report. Legislative focus has been on reopening schools by April 1; forgiveness of PPP loans examined.
4. Health Care. CHOMP has only 7 COVID patients in house; no new admittance since last Friday; big drop in percentage of positive tests; vaccination clinics will start tomorrow (65+ plus restaurants and ag workers); no financial support to our local hospitals from any government agencies for these clinics; $15K per day per location for Montage amounts to significant financial burden; it is expected that clinics will operate 5 days per week for several months; business community might be asked to participate financially.
