Congratulations to Monterey Jazz Festival and California Rodeo Salinas on Two Outstanding Events This Weekend!
Monterey Jazz Fest Recap
The Monterey Jazz Festival solidified its place as the world’s longest continuously running jazz festival over the weekend. 7,500 festival-goers enjoy music by icon jazz artist such as Herbie Hancock, George Benson and Pat Metheny. With new health and safety procedures and limited ticket sales, attendees were easily able to socially distance, plus the limited capacity gave the festival a more exclusive feel.
The 111th California Rodeo Salinas returned with more than 41,000 tickets sold. Bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing and bull riding were among the events featured. This was also the Rodeo's first time hosting the ProRodeo Tour Finale. In addition to competing for a ticket to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas later this year, contestants also competed for nearly $1 million, the largest sum of prize money in California Rodeo Salinas history.
