RIBBON CUTTING RECAP: Art Abilities in Pacific Grove

The Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce was honored to celebrate Art Abilities in Pacific Grove with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Guests enjoyed refreshments, networking and viewing the art in studio. Art Abilities is a nonprofit committed to empowering intellectually disadvantaged people by helping them in their creative expression through art.

GROUNDBREAKING: Monterey County Fair & Events Center

Groundbreaking news! The Monterey County Fair & Events Center has officially broken ground on their project to modernize the barn and public restrooms on the property. The initiatives for the new barn and new restrooms share a common goal: to preserve our Fairgrounds, rooted in the local community, and focused on community needs while looking ahead at the broader opportunities for youth. Help the Monterey County Fair Heritage Foundation complete their new capital improvement project. Your custom brick paver will line our new patio which will be the centerpiece of the new barn!

FREE WEBINAR: Proposed Deep Sea Coral Research & Restoration Areas in Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary

The purpose of this webinar is to share information on three deep-sea coral research and restoration areas for which the Pacific Fishery Management Council is currently considering adding fishing protections, as well as highlight a new GIS decision support tool and provide the public an opportunity to ask questions and share information about these areas. MBNMS is interested in any known hazards, unique biogenic habitats, nursery/spawning grounds, and any other information regarding the areas in order to help inform the Council analysis for this action.

Glick Design Wins American Graphic Design Award

Congratulations to Glick Design on receiving an American Graphic Design Award for their "Lahaina Rising Poster". The poster was one of 8,000+ entries into the end-of-year/best-of-year awards program. The "Lahaina Rising" post won in the poster design/illustration category with the art work representing hope for the future for the people of Lahaina and Maui. Congratulations to Robert Glick & team!
