SPOTLIGHT: Artichoke Festival

Since 1959, the Monterey Peninsula has come together to celebrate California’s official state vegetable. California’s artichoke history begins in 1922 when the first artichoke shoots were planted in Castroville. Nearly 100 percent of America’s fresh artichoke supply is grown in California. In addition, nearly two-thirds is grown in the small town of Castroville.

The annual Artichoke Festival continues to support the heritage of Castroville’s farming community. The Monterey County Fairgrounds and Events Center is excited to announce the return of the Artichoke Festival on June 8th and 9th, 2024. This year’s theme, “Where Fun Blossoms,” promises a weekend full of diverse entertainment, culinary adventures, and unique experiences.

Don’t miss out on this year’s Artichoke Festival at the Monterey County Fairgrounds and Events Center. Book your tickets now and prepare for a festival where fun truly blossoms! Tickets can be purchased at www.artichokefestival.org.
