Ribbon Cutting: Re:Vision West and Shibusa Systems "Home of the Future"

Congratulations to Re:Vision West and Shibusa Systems on the completion and grand unveiling of their "Home of the Future" prototype — the first home in Monterey to be 100% electric, net zero energy, and incorporate both storm water collection and grey water recycling to help conserve valuable resources.

This new prototype home is also built for climate resiliency and is designed to blend with the fabric of the local community. Re:Vision West is the first developer in California to design-build using Shibusa Systems, a revolutionary early-stage startup transforming how homes are designed and built, from concept to completion.

Re:Vision, using Shibusa’s designs, is currently developing a 15-unit multifamily project in Marina, with construction expected to start soon, and is in talks with CSU Monterey Bay and the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District, among others, about building workforce housing.

Free Bus Fare on Election Day for Monterey-Salinas Transit

Transportation will be available on Election Day for voters to make their way to the polls in Monterey County.

The Monterey-Salinas Transit is offering free fares all day, system-wide on Nov. 5. All buses and rides will be free regardless of the destination.

“We understand that transportation can often be a barrier for many in our community, making it difficult to access polling locations,” said a news release about the occasion. “In an effort to ensure everyone has the opportunity to vote, MST is doing its part to remove as many obstacles as possible.”

All residents regardless of their transportation needs or circumstances are encouraged to take advantage of the free fares. The buses will stop by polling locations, making it easier to drop off ballots or walk in to vote.
