Celebrating Our Community Impact Award Honoree: Sandra Button

For nearly 40 years, Sandra Button has guided the growth of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, serving first as its Executive Director and as its Chairman since 2002. She has also been deeply involved in transforming the collector car hobby into a truly global celebration of the automobile, supporting many new automotive events and seeking to encourage the next generation of enthusiasts. She often officiates at concours from Asia and the Middle East to Europe and South America.

For 70 years, KSBW has been your source for the latest local headlines and live alerts. KSBW first signed on the air September 11, 1953, and was the only television station serving Monterey, Salinas, Santa Cruz and surrounding communities for 16 years, the call letters honoring our area's role as the Salad Bowl of the World. From the Central Coast’s most tragic stories to covering some of the most beautiful events in the world, KSBW Action News 8 has been there.

KSBW has been an instrumental part of the community. One aspect of that has been with the opportunity to partner with non-profit organizations to raise money for those who need it most. From their 'Share Your Holiday' fundraiser, benefitting the Salvation Army, to helping the SPCA Monterey County with pet adoptions and partnering with the Red Cross for disaster relief assistance.

KSBW is committed to its mission to serve the Salinas-Monterey-Santa Cruz region with quality local content. The station has been honored with numerous prestigious broadcasting honors including regional RTDNA Edward R. Murrow Awards for “Best Newscast” and regional Emmy’s, and Associated Press Awards for “Breaking News Coverage.”
