Alvarado Street Brewery Wins Big at World Beer Cup


Judges at the 2025 World Beer Cup awarded the brewery gold, silver and bronze medals during ceremonies held in Indianapolis. Brewmaster J.C. Hill credited the team at Alvarado Street’s four locations for its commitment “to do the little things right.”

Throughout 14 sessions spanning seven days, a panel of 265 judges from 37 countries methodically evaluated 8,375 entries from 1,761 breweries and cideries across 49 nations and bestowed 349 awards.

KSQD (pronounced “K-Squid”) is a vibrant, listener-supported community radio station serving California’s Central Coast, including Santa Cruz, Monterey, Salinas, Watsonville, and Prunedale. Owned and operated by the nonprofit Natural Bridges Media, KSQD broadcasts on 90.7, 89.5, and 89.7 FM, offering a diverse mix of music, news, and locally produced talk shows that reflect the unique spirit of the region.
