Celebrating Monterey One Water’s New Digester Project

The Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce congratulates Monterey One Water on the ribbon cutting of its new digester, funded by a $4.2 million CalRecycle grant. This innovative project will reduce emissions, conserve natural resources, and significantly cut climate pollution in Monterey County.

As shared at the event, methane from decomposing organic waste is a major contributor to climate pollution. By expanding organics recycling through advanced digesters like this one, Monterey One Water is setting a model for communities across California.

We are proud to celebrate this milestone and the positive environmental impact it will bring to our region.
