Celebrating Our 2025 Citizens of the Year: Kelli Uldall & Steve Snider

Kelli Uldall and Steve Snider are the owners of the award-winning Carmel Magazine, which they founded in 2000. Kelli serves as art director and photographer and is responsible for the overall look and visual direction of the magazine. Steve oversees day-to-day business operations and determines the editorial content of each issue.

Kelli’s interest in photography began at the age of 10 when she received her first camera. A talented artist from an early age, she combined those skills into a career working with various publications and advertising agencies. In addition to raising a family and producing the magazine, Kelli serves on the board of the nonprofit animal rescue Our Neighborhood Pet Project and has fostered more than 200 kittens.

Steve’s background in publishing dates back to 1976, when he worked for a series of weekly newspapers in Santa Cruz. He eventually moved to the Santa Cruz Sentinel and in 1990 accepted a position at The Monterey Herald, where he and Kelli later met. In his free time, Steve enjoys playing guitar.

Carmel Magazine Inc. also publishes the Guide to Carmel and The Official Monterey Jazz Festival Souvenir Guide.
