Breast Cancer Assistance Group of Monterey County (BCAG) is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization of breast cancer survivors dedicated to improving the lives of local breast cancer patients and their families. Founded in 1997, BCAG raises funds and awareness while providing educational resources and need-based grants to help patients manage basic living expenses during treatment, including food, rent, utilities, gas, and other necessities.
What makes BCAG especially impactful is that the support raised stays right here in Monterey County. Over the past year alone, BCAG awarded more than $261,000 to 101 local women, helping ease some of the financial burden that can accompany a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. Guided by the simple mission, “We want to help other women with this disease as we would want to be helped ourselves,” BCAG continues to provide meaningful, compassionate support to members of our community when they need it most.
In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Breast Cancer Assistance Group of Monterey County (BCAG) is partnering with local businesses throughout October to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer patients in our community who are facing financial hardship during treatment.
All proceeds raised through BCAG’s October Pink Partner promotions go directly to helping local breast cancer patients in need.
