COVID-19 Business Resources in Monterey County, California

Amy Gibson

Amy is the Director of Conference Services at the Portola Hotel & Spa at Monterey Bay. With over 35 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Amy is extremely knowledgeable about catering and events for groups of all sizes and needs. Amy also recently has joined the Board of Directors of the Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce. She stays very active still with the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce as the Co-Chair of the Special Events Committee. When Amy is not working or volunteering her passion is her husband of 35 years Scott and her 4-legged fur baby “Indy”.

Alex Winkle

Alexander C. Winkle ("Alex"), JD, LLM joined Schwartz Law Group, Inc. and the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce in July 2016. Originally from southern California, Alex works in Carmel as a tax attorney specializing in estate planning, business, and real estate law. As a member of the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Committee, he can often be found at Chamber events greeting guests, pouring wine, or otherwise helping however he can. Though a relatively new addition to the community, Alex volunteers with the Barnyard Shopping Village, Big Sur Marathon, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Pacific Repertory Theatre, Salinas Valley Food & Wine Festival, and of course the Chamber. He also stays "active" in the community by running the Salinas Valley Half Marathon, Honor Our Fallen 10K in Marina, Monterey Bay Half Marathon, and along the Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail. Alex is proud to be a member of our community, and is honored to be the Volunteer of the Month for July 2018.

Nancy Zarate

Nancy is a native to the Monterey Peninsula. She has been at the Monterey Marriott for 12 years. As the Catering Sales Executive she has the opportunity to partner with many different clients from brides looking to plan their special day to corporate client who are looking to host their annual meetings. The best part of her day is connecting with brides and learning about their engagements or having the opportunity to work non-profits who are looking to host their annual Gala. In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with her family and best friend Carissa and her daughter Hayden. Sunny days will you catch her on a hike in Big Sur or going on weekend getaways. She loves her Bay Area teams especially the Oakland Raiders and Warriors! For 2019 she’s looking forward to getting more involved in the community.

Tabitha Cook

Born and raised in Monterey County, Tabitha has always prided herself in community involvement and engaging the younger generation to be actively present. Tabitha was nominated Volunteer of the Month for founding the Monterey Peninsula Young Professionals organization in February of 2019 and partnering it with the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce in March of 2019. Her goal is to motivate young professionals to improve their networking skills, build professional relationships, and to give back to the community. Since its founding in February, M.P.Y.P. has hosted several networking mixers, beach clean ups, group hikes, and behind the scenes industry tours in Monterey, Sand City, Seaside, Marina and Salinas. The organization consists of over 70 active participants and is growing each month! Tabitha’s dedication and enthusiasm for the Young Professionals is inspiring and aligns with what the Chamber of Commerce aims to achieve in the community. Tabitha graduated from MPC and CSULB with a degree in Fine Arts. She has authored and self published a children’s book. She has traveled to over 9 different countries. She plays over 6 different musical instruments and loves to sing and write her own music. She enjoys spending much of her time with friends and her siblings Chris, Nathan and Candace. From snowboarding to lake camping and beach bonfires, Tabitha enjoys the outdoor world as much as she can. Currently, she works as a campaign manager in the 2020 county supervisorial race and in her free time she can be found at the gym, traveling, or working the next Monterey Peninsula Young Professionals project!

Mary Warburton-Boland

Mary is a very active member of her community and continues to volunteer for numerous non-profits currently and over the last several years. She’s a member of the National California Golf Association, Italian Catholic Federation, a current and active Ambassador and Special Events committee member for the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce. Mary graduated from Leadership Monterey Peninsula in 2008 enhancing her overall knowledge of this incredible community and has received several awards of Honor, including the Robert C. Littlefield Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015 and Volunteer of the Month several times for her continued involvement with the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce. Mary has over 25 years of banking experience, starting from the ground up as Teller back in the day and advancing into the various facets of banking including the Commercial Business Lending arena. As Vice President and Business Banking Officer for Rabobank’s Monterey Peninsula branches, she builds relationships with her local business clients to understand their banking needs and provide them with a full range of customized products and financial services. In her spare time, Mary enjoys golfing with her husband Max and spending time with her daughter, Erika, husband Jordan and new Granddaughter, Iliana Sofia. She also enjoys attending the various community events expanding her list of who’s who in this beautiful Monterey Peninsula we call home. Thank you Monterey Peninsula Chamber Board Chair, Board of Directors and Staff for selecting me as July Volunteer of the Month, such a prestigious recognition. Truly appreciate all you do for our Chamber and the community.

Julie King

Julie King has been a practicing attorney for more than 30 years. She has worked in both at law firms and within the legal departments of major international corporations, such as Toshiba America. She is currently the principal of PIERCE KING, P.C., a business and estate planning law firm in Monterey. She represents clients throughout the State of California. PIERCE KING handles a variety of trusts (including revocable and special needs trusts), as well as wills, health care directives, powers of attorney, real estate grant deeds, incorporation, LLC formation, annual meeting minutes, contracts, and business succession planning, among other things. Ms. King received her undergraduate degree from UCLA and her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School. Ms. King is a Board Member for the Monterey County Business Council and Monterey Bay Educational Center, an Ambassador for the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce. She is also involved in numerous community service projects including Love Our Central Coast. Julie King is a noted speaker, having conducted seminars for the State Bar of California; Continuing Education of the Bar of California; the Monterey Bar Association; the Orange County Bar Association; and Alliance Career Training Solutions. Additionally, she has been a guest lecturer at the California State University, Fullerton, taught ethics at Western State University School of Law, and was a professor at the University of California Irvine’s Paralegal Program. Her talks cover a wide range of topics from Trusts and Wills to Sexual Harassment Prevention.
