COVID-19 Business Resources in Monterey County, California

The Monterey Chamber of Commerce was established in 1908. In 1949, it expanded to serve the entire area encompassing the nearby cities of Carmel, Del Rey Oaks, Marina, Pacific Grove, Sand City, Seaside and the unincorporated areas of Big Sur, Carmel Valley, Carmel Highlands and Pebble Beach.

In 1982, the board of directors voted to officially change the name to the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce to reflect the regional membership. With more than 600 members representing more than 50,000 full-time employees, MPCC continues to serve the business interests of the entire Monterey Peninsula.

The mission of the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce is to support member success and promote the regional economy.

We will be a world class Chamber of Commerce that champions Monterey County as an engine of innovation and prosperity.

We bring the lowest cost, lowest risk marketing that members can acquire:

  • by gaining access to other business owners in a “warm-call” environment
  • by having plenty of opportunities to build relationships

Large businesses also appreciate the value of supporting the strength of the local business community: a strong community attracts potential employees, and makes the quality of life even better for their current employees.

Let’s shift the notion from what the Chamber DOES to what the Chamber IS: an essential resource for the business community.
