About The Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce

The "Monterey" Chamber of Commerce began in 1908 and in 1949 expanded to serve the entire area encompassing the nearby cities of Carmel, Del Rey Oaks, Marina, Pacific Grove, Sand City, Seaside and unincorporated areas of Big Sur, Carmel Valley, Carmel Highlands, and Pebble Beach.  In 1982 the board of directors voted to officially change the name to the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce to reflect the regional nature of its membership.  Today, the nonprofit 501(c)(6) business association continues to be committed to serving the business interests of the entire Peninsula. The organization currently has over 600 members representing over 50,000 full-time employees, which includes small and large businesses and nonprofits throughout the Monterey Peninsula.  The membership organization is a convener for business leaders and influences; a connector for regional businesses, organizations and individuals; a catalyst for business vitality and growth; and a champion for a strong and vibrant Monterey Peninsula economy.  For more information about the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce visit www.montereychamber.com or call (831) 648-5360.
