After two rounds of voting in this year's Business Excellence Awards, Chamber and community members voted Women’s Council of Realtors as the best in their field in the “Real Estate and Property Management" category. Founded in 1938, Women's Council of Realtors is a network of successful women as professionals and leaders in business, the industry and the community. They are a dynamic group that promotes the achievement and influence of women in real estate.
Marlene Lucero, President of Women’s Council of Realtors, attributes this major accomplishment to two main things: the organization’s ability to network and a highly engaged Board of Directors. Women’s Council of Realtors makes it a priority to network and increase their community engagement. Some of this involves holding special events such as discussion panels with city supervisors and managers, fundraising events, self defense classes, Member mixers and orientations, conferences with well-known speakers from around the county, and more. In addition, their carefully selected Board of Directors helps their organization to grow and holds the team accountable to their goals.
Most Members of Women's Council say that they feel being a part of the organization has developed their leadership skills in both their business and personal life. With such a diverse, dynamic, and relationship-focused network of realtors, it is no wonder why the community voted them #1 in their category.
