Why MPCC?

The Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce is about the voice of business and has always been the voice of business on the Monterey Peninsula.  We need to make sure the Chamber and its voice on government affairs and community relations is ever present.  As a member of the Chamber since the 1980s I believe in the mission of the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce and the legacy of its beneficial contributions to our community.

I was looking to connect with others who shared my mindset and to better understand the Peninsula community, since my business was new to the area. Joining the Chamber felt like the natural way to put down roots.

Participating in the Chamber's activities, meeting new people, and knowing that I'm making a real difference in my community brings me genuine joy to be able to serve my community through this network.

Entrepreneurship can be a lonely road, but it doesn't have to be. The Chamber is a space where you'll find advice, companionship, and fresh ideas.

Being a member of the Monterey Chamber for 10 years now provides opportunity for Disaster Kleenup Specialists to meet new business contacts, exchange ideas, strengthen existing relationships, and enhance our brand with members. Each individual chamber event has its own attraction to attendees and sponsors which provides a lot of diversity. The best way to get the most out of your membership is by showing up. We love being part of the Chamber and the support it brings to our community!

I became a member of the Chamber because I truly value being part of a strong, connected business community that supports one another while elevating the entire region-not just for business growth, but for genuine connection. It's about being part of something bigger and contributing to the growth and success of our local economy.

I especially love my role as an Ambassador for the Chamber. It allows me to actively welcome new members, foster relationships, and stay closely connected to all aspects of the community.

For anyone considering joining the Chamber, I would say: get involved and show up. The more you put into it, the more you'll get out of it. It's an incredible platform to build relationships, gain exposure, and feel connected to the heartbeat of the community.

The social aspect of chamber membership has always been a highlight and in today's rapidly changing world the networking, support and resources afforded our company have been invaluable. Starting with the Monterey Chamber back in 1991, The Professional Women's Network has enjoyed the remarkable individuals and the networking is extremely valuable. The chambers mission aligns with our non-profit as it provides resources and support to area businesses, markets the strength of the region, and provides a voice to be heard. As a business development director of a new business, I have found that participation in the local Chamber of Commerce has been invaluable. When we began our company a little over 3 years ago, one of the first things I did was seek out a membership with the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce because I had experienced the support and comradery that the Chamber had to offer me during my previous employment at another company. I really appreciate (and always pleasantly surprised) the business-to-business relationships that are developed by simply showing up to a mixer, workshop or luncheon! I highly recommend Chamber membership for any business that would like to boost their company's visibility and standing in the community.

JHW Architects, Inc. has been a continuous member of the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce for 27 years and our membership has given me the opportunity to be more involved and known in the community.  The Chamber is about relationships in business--networking with businesses, advocating for business and supporting the people and relationships that make business happen.  The Chamber's Governmental Affairs Committee has introduced me to many elected officials and decision makers in our region, and I've made friends among the people I serve with.  As architects we don't have something to sell to everyone, in fact, only about 3% of people will ever engage an architect.  The key is to have our name out there, so when the 3% do search - which they can do through the Chamber - they find us easily.

I want to thank the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce for their steadfast support and recognition of our nonprofit community. Too often, chambers of commerce overlook the important role nonprofits play, not only in strengthening quality of life, but also as employers and contributors to the local economy. Seeing two nonprofit CEOs recognized among this year's honorees at the 2026 Annual Awards Dinner speaks volumes about the Chamber's inclusive approach and its clear understanding that nonprofits are an essential part of our business community. I appreciate the Chamber's leadership and would encourage organizations that value collaboration and community to be part of its work.

I have been a member of the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce since 2014, and highly recommend joining this peninsula-wide Chamber to other businesses.  During the pandemic, they really stepped up to secure grant funding for some of our most vulnerable businesses, regardless if they were members.  The Chamber also provides great networking and marketing opportunities, which is very helpful, especially for new business owners.
